About

It is easy to sit up and take notice. What is difficult is getting up and taking action.
                                                                                             —HonorĂ© de Balzac

While a challenge as monumental as climate change can easily overwhelm us, the facts before us demand an immediate and decisive response. As a government leader, are you ready to act?

LMI recognizes that the first step is always the hardest. That’s why we’re proud to announce our newest book: Climate Change: What You Can Do Now.

In 2009, LMI gave federal leaders a comprehensive primer on climate change science. In Climate Change: What You Can Do Now, we have expanded that discussion beyond scientists and politicians to the managers whose organizations are facing the impacts of a changing climate. They are the ones who must make the day-to-day decisions that equip their organizations to mitigate and adapt to the changes.

LMI’s functional experts show public and private sector managers how climate change will affect each of seven critical areas:
  • Public Health
  • Communications and IT
  •  Land Use
  • Infrastructure
  • Vehicles
  • Supply Chain
  • National Security.
We then offer a path forward paved with practical action. The book describes readily available tools that any organization can apply to the climate change issue. And it shows how the things that will help address climate change are also, at their roots, good business decision. Most important, Climate Change: What You Can Do Now is a realistic, evenhanded answer to a most fundamental question: What can you do now?
